Biography: |
Dr. Eugene Newman has a private
practice specializing in the assessment of children and adolescents. He provides Psychoeducational and Neuropsychological
evaluations of infants through adulthood. Dr. Newman has particular expertise
with diagnose and treatment plans for learning disability, lead poisoning,
traumatic brain injury, attention deficit problems, autism, Asperger’s
Syndrome, memory concerns as well as clarification of many other psychological
and psychiatric disorders. The purpose of our evaluations is not only to
identify the specific difficulty of my clients but why the client is having the
problem, so that a research-based treatment program can implemented to address
the issue.
Dr. Newman earned his MS and Ph.D. in
Clinical Psychology from Fordham University in 1976. Dr. Newman received post-doctoral training in
Neuropsychology from Fielding University in 2007. Dr. Newman became Board Certified in School
Neuropsychology in 2009 (ABSNP) and Board Certified in Pediatric
Neuropsychology in 2014 (ABPdN). Dr. Newman is a licensed bilingual (English,
Spanish) psychologist and school psychologist in New York State. He has vast
experience in conducting forensic evaluations with particular expertise in
cases related to learning disability, lead poisoning and traumatic brain
injury. A great deal of his practice relates to evaluation of cases where the
plaintiff requests a “Fair Hearing with the Department of Education (in New
York City).
Dr. Newman is a member of the National Academy of
Neuropsychology (NAN), American Psychological Association (APA), New York State
Psychological Association (NYSPA) and The New York State Association of
Neuropsychology (NYSAN).
