Biography:
Dr. Reuter is a licensed psychologist
specializing in pediatric neuropsychology at Beljan Psychological. Services in
Scottsdale, Arizona. Her practice focuses on the identification and development
of intellectual giftedness, autism spectrum disorders, executive function
deficits, and neuropsychological sequelae of neglect and trauma. She works with
adults, children and their families through neuropsychological evaluation,
educational consultation, and individual/family therapy. She also participates
in forensic neuropsychology cases. She lectures nationally on topics including
giftedness, trauma, mindfulness, and misdiagnosis.
Dr. Reuter is also a consulting
neuropsychologist at HealthSouth Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital in
Glendale, Arizona. She is an interdisciplinary team member of the Brain Injury,
Stroke, and Oncology programs. She contributed to the hospital’s successful
pursuit of Disease-Specific Care Certification in Brain Injury Rehabilitation
from the Joint Commission, making HealthSouth Valley of the Sun the first
hospital in the state to obtain such distinction. In addition to providing
neuropsychological evaluation and emotional support to patients, she also heads
brain injury behavior rounds, which aim to increase patient comfort and
participation through environmental modifications rather than sedation.
Dr. Reuter has received training in
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Ericksonian
hypnotherapy. She also has extensive experience in substance abuse treatment
and the therapeutic treatment of individuals with chronic and terminal medical
diagnoses. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Arizona
Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, Arizona
Neuropsychological Society, and the Brain Injury Association of Arizona. She is
a supervisor and guest lecturer for the Arizona Psychology Training Consortium.
She is also a faculty associate of Arizona State University’s Doctor of
Behavioral Health program.
Dr. Reuter completed her doctoral
degree in Counseling Psychology at Arizona State University. She completed a
one year internship and a two year post-doctoral residency in pediatric neuropsychology
at Beljan Psychological Services. She earned a Master’s degree in Asian
Religion from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a Bachelor’s degree in
Philosophy and Ethics at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois.
